It's a five-door hatchback with five seats and a 293-litre boot, which handles a weekly shop or two suitcases comfortably. The petrol version uses a 1.5-litre engine with a CVT automatic and returns a claimed 6.0L/100km. It's not quick, and it isn't trying to be. What it is, is cheap to run and easy to drive — no gear changes to think about, light steering, and good visibility for anyone unfamiliar with Perth roads. Inside it's better equipped than the price suggests, with a large central touchscreen, a digital driver display, and wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so your phone handles navigation. For visitors, it's the sensible default. If you're staying in the metro area and driving yourself around, this covers it at the lowest cost of anything we hire.
